Introduction: The Measurement and Control Technology & Instrument of our college was established in 1999, awarded with brand and top-rated undergraduate courses of Tianjin. In 2004, a MSc program in "Testing and Measurement Technology and Instruments" was authorized and  it was approved as a course brand of Tianjin in 2010. In 2011, "Instrument Science and Technology" was approved as a key discipline of Tianjin. The course aims to educate professional engineers with the knowledge of information collection, processing, transmission, automation detection and control technology.

Training outcomes:

The course arrangement is orientated by the demand of job market, focusing on the systematic theory and basic skills of instrumentation science. Courses on information collection and processing, communication technology, measurement and control technology and systems, etc.  Engineering practice training, engineering skills training. Foreign language and computer.

Academic staffs:

Nine academic staffs, including six master's supervisors. Four professors and associate professors and two staffs have overseas experience. The members have been awarded with Tianjin May Day Labor Medal, Top-ten Teachers of Virtue and Art of Tianjin, “3.8” Red-Banner Pacesetter of Tianjin, Teaching Master of Tianjin, and Teaching Master of TUST. Granted massive national level scientific research projects and industrial-funded projects. Published hundreds of academic papers.

Student Awards:

In recent years, students in this major have won over 30 awards in various competitions, including the National College Student Electronic Design Competition, the "Challenge Cup" National College Student Competition, the National College Student "NXP" Intelligent Car Competition, the National College Student Robot Competition, and the Tianjin College Student Single Chip Machine Application Design Competition.

Graduates can work in research institutes, enterprises and academic institutions related to the research, development, and application of information collection, processing, transmission, and automatic control technologies, engaging in design, manufacturing, sales, operation and maintenance, management, and teaching jobs.
