To thoroughly implement the university sector’s special campaign of “visiting enterprises to expand posts and promote employment” and push the integration of industry and education deeper and more solidly, Gao Faming — Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Tianjin University of Science and Technology — recently led a delegation to Tianjin Zhongdian Huali Electric Technology Group Co., Ltd. (Huali Group) for a visit and exchange. The two sides held in-depth discussions on core topics such as joint talent cultivation, the building of internship bases and research cooperation, exploring new paths for collaboration together.

On behalf of the university, Vice President Gao Faming thanked Huali Group for its warm hospitality. He stressed that the visit was an important measure in implementing the special campaign of “visiting enterprises to expand posts and promote employment”, and a concrete practice of aligning with Tianjin’s key industrial chains and serving the high-quality development of the regional economy. He noted that the fourth Party Congress of Tianjin University of Science and Technology had set the goal of building a high-level research university in all respects, and that the university had established the Shangxing Faculty to organise and implement the optimisation of disciplines and majors and the reform of integrated undergraduate–master–doctoral training, promoting interdisciplinary upgrading and industry–education integration. Meanwhile, the College of Electronic Information and Automation has accumulated deep expertise in electrical automation, intelligent control and related fields, and the university’s talent cultivation is highly compatible with the industrial needs of Huali Group. The university would leverage its disciplinary strengths to make talent cultivation more customised and research cooperation more project-based, helping the enterprise solve technical problems while building a high-quality internship and employment platform for students, so as to achieve win-win development for both sides.

Wang Jinlan, Secretary of the Party Committee of Huali Group, and Li Zhitao, Deputy General Manager of the Group, extended a warm welcome to Gao Faming and his delegation and gave a detailed introduction to the enterprise’s development. As a high-tech enterprise with more than twenty years of dedication to the power industry, Huali Group focuses on core areas such as intelligent digital electrical appliances and digitalised power operation and maintenance, holds a number of national patents, and covers the full chain of power equipment R&D and manufacturing, electrical engineering installation and technology services. It has provided professional substation operation and maintenance support for key projects such as the National Games and the Tianjin Metro, with remarkable industry influence. The enterprise also attaches great importance to talent cultivation: its Huali Education arm continuously supplies skilled talent to the industry, and it looks forward to deepening collaboration with universities to achieve precise alignment between the talent chain and the industrial chain.

At the symposium, the leadership of the Office of Academic Affairs and of the College of Electronic Information and Automation introduced the university’s programme offerings, the revision of training plans and the building of the internship and practical training system, highlighting the university’s distinctive measures in talent cultivation. They expressed the hope of jointly establishing internship and practice bases with Huali Group, co-developing courses and jointly supervising students, so that practical teaching would resonate with industrial needs. The two sides reached a preliminary consensus on graduate recruitment, student internships and practical training, and joint technical research projects, and agreed to establish a regular communication mechanism to accelerate the implementation of cooperation items.

During the visit, Gao Faming and his delegation toured Huali Group’s intelligent production workshop, intelligent operations and maintenance centre and education and training centre, observing at close range the operation of automated production lines and precision electrical equipment and gaining an in-depth understanding of the enterprise’s production processes, technology application scenarios and talent demand standards. The advanced production technology and rigorous quality control system gave the delegation a more intuitive understanding of the intelligent upgrading of the power industry, and laid a practical foundation for subsequent college–enterprise cooperation.

This visit effectively built a bridge of communication between the university and the enterprise and further broadened employment channels for graduates.
