To thoroughly implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches and instructions on strengthening the building of a clean culture in the new era, to solidly carry out education on establishing and practising a correct view of political achievements, to build a firm line of defence for Party members and cadres against corruption and moral decline, and to foster a clean and upright educational environment, the College recently organised more than 90 Party member representatives from its faculty and student Party branches to visit the Tanggu Sub-district Integrity Education Base and the Binhai New Area Museum. There they carried out an “immersive” integrity-themed study tour, ensuring that integrity education truly reaches the mind and the heart and takes solid root.

I. Drawing Lessons from Cases to Fortify Ideological Defences

At the Tanggu Integrity Education Base, following the docent, all participants visited in turn the three themed exhibition halls — “Revering Integrity · Cultivating Character”, “Upholding Integrity · Guiding Conduct” and “Advocating Integrity · Observing Prohibitions”. Through detailed illustrated panels, vivid warning cases, striking video materials and reconstructed scenes, the halls systematically reviewed the unswerving progress of full and rigorous Party self-governance, analysed in depth typical cases of discipline and law violations handled in the Binhai New Area in recent years, and revealed the serious harm that corrupt conduct inflicts on individuals, families, careers and society.

At the interactive “Ever-Ringing Alarm Bell” area, the warning bell and the wall of confessions gave everyone a spiritual baptism that struck at the heart. Participants keenly felt the heavy lesson that “a single wrong thought brings total loss”, further strengthened the discipline awareness of revering discipline, harbouring caution and holding the bottom line, and firmed up the political consciousness of integrity, self-discipline and resistance to corruption and degeneration.

II. Drawing Lessons from History to Cultivate a Clean and Honest Style

Subsequently, the study team entered the Binhai New Area Museum (a municipal-level innovation and practice base for family education and family tradition), exploring the integrity genes in the local culture and perceiving the wisdom of integrity amid historical change, thereby organically integrating “warning education” with “cultural nourishment of integrity”. Through rich historical relics, precious documents and restored scenes, the museum presented a panoramic view of the Binhai New Area’s journey from saline-alkali wasteland to industrial highland, vividly interpreting the spirit of “hard struggle, honest service to the public and solid, responsible action”.

In the special exhibition area on clean culture, everyone gained a deeper understanding of the exemplary deeds of model figures of diligent and honest governance in the history of the Tianjin Party organisation, and learned from their noble qualities of staying true to the original aspiration, serving the public with integrity and serving the people. In the local history hall, the stories ranged from ancient sages who “sought no fame or gain and kept to a simple and honest life”, to modern patriots’ national integrity of “upholding righteousness and resisting foreign aggression”; from the fine style of “hard struggle and honest dedication” of the older generation of builders during the industrial construction period, to the spiritual outlook of “seeking truth, doing solid work, being upright and pragmatic” of the people of Binhai in the new era. Historical photographs, precious cultural relics and vivid stories linked together a heritage of integrity that transcends time, leading everyone to a profound realisation that clean culture is an important part of fine traditional Chinese culture and a deep foundation for cultivating an excellent school ethos, teaching style and study style.

III. Taking Solid Action to Preserve the True Colours of Integrity

This practice-based study activity of the Clean Government Education Month is an important measure for the College of Electronic Information and Automation to deepen the building of a clean culture, strengthen discipline education and enhance teacher ethics. It offered all faculty and student Party members a profound lesson on clean governance, on Party spirit and on professional ethics. Party member representatives unanimously stated that the study was deeply educational and highly sobering — both a profound tempering of Party spirit and a vivid baptism of integrity.

Going forward, the College of Electronic Information and Automation will take the Party conduct and clean government education month as an opportunity to continuously enrich the forms of integrity education and expand its carriers, deeply integrating integrity education with teacher ethics development and routine supervision and management. It will guide all faculty members to remain true to the original aspiration of education, hold fast to the bottom line of integrity and shoulder the mission of nurturing people, and to promote high-quality development of all College work with a clean and upright style and a pragmatic, responsible spirit.
